Short Excerpt

Mortise & Tenon Construction

The tenon on our Mortise & Tenon style doors and drawer fronts is 5/8″ long and provides the strongest joint available. Standard frame widths for Mortise & Tenon style doors are from 2-1/4” to 3-1/2”. To guarantee against warping, doors that are 48″ or taller will automatically have a center rail added.

Mitered Construction

Both our Traditional and French mitered doors are constructed using a blind mortise and tenon that is 3/8″ thick by 1/2″ deep. The width of the mortise and tenon will vary depending on the frame width of the door or drawer front. Standard frame widths on doors are from 2-1⁄4″ and 3″ depending on the frame style selected.

Slab Construction

Slab constructed doors are made from either solid wood or veneered MDF core material. Solid wood slab doors have battens applied to the back for stability and optional outside edge profiles. Veneered MDF core door have wood veneer faces and backs with matching wood veneer taped edges.

One Piece MDF Construction

This construction method is done by routing the door profiles into a single piece of MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) with a CNC router. One piece MDF doors are available in painted finishes only and not subject to expansion and contraction as solid wood doors are.
